MadiganGill is proud to celebrate apprentice Corey Kearney-Wellington, who has been featured in a national news story highlighting the growing importance of apprenticeships and skills development across the UK.

Corey, who joined MadiganGill Logistics third apprenticeship cohort in January 2025, is currently working towards his Level 2 Waste Resource Operative Apprenticeship. His story was recently featured in a national newspaper article examining the challenges young people face when trying to secure apprenticeship opportunities and the increasing recognition of vocational training as a pathway to rewarding careers.
Before beginning his apprenticeship, Corey worked in retail but was keen to develop new skills and build a long-term career. Speaking about his experience, he highlighted the opportunities that apprenticeships provide to gain practical knowledge, earn while learning, and develop valuable industry expertise.
Corey's journey reflects the positive impact that apprenticeship programmes can have on individuals looking to build sustainable careers within the construction and waste management sectors. Through a combination of hands-on experience, structured learning, and mentorship, he is developing the skills needed to support a more sustainable and efficient industry.
At MadiganGill, we are committed to investing in the next generation of talent. Our apprenticeship programme is designed to provide meaningful career opportunities, helping individuals gain industry-recognised qualifications while contributing to projects that make a real difference across the UK.
Corey is one of several apprentices currently progressing through the programme, and his national recognition is a testament to the dedication, enthusiasm, and ambition demonstrated by our apprentices every day.
As discussions continue around the future of skills, training, and employment opportunities, stories like Corey's highlight the important role apprenticeships play in creating pathways into rewarding careers and addressing skills shortages across key sectors.
